Linux 2.2.26

QuoteHi all,

so here we go, 2.2.26 final. I am very proud to announce this because it fixes
several of security bugs including the last mremap() bug, the longer known
hashing exploit possibility in the network stack and /dev/rtc leakage.

I encourage all 2.2 kernel users to update.

Please send me all fixes/patches/etc. I've forgotton for 2.2.27-pre/rc
inclusion.

Have fun

2.2.26

Linux 2.4.26.8

QuoteI've just released Linux 2.4.36.8.

It contains various fixes, 3 of which are for medium local security
issues. While not critical, it is suggested that 2.4.36 setups with
untrusted local users upgrade to 2.4.36.8.

The patch and changelog will appear soon at the following locations:
  ftp://ftp.all.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.4/

Linux 2.6.26.7

QuoteWe (the -stable team) are announcing the release of the 2.6.26.7
kernel.

It contains a wide range of bugfixes, and all users of the 2.6.26 kernel
series are strongly encouraged to upgrade.

Actually, scratch that, you all should upgrade to the 2.6.27 kernel
series as soon as possible, as there will probably only be one more
2.6.26 kernel release, so starting to migrate now would be a very good
idea.

I'll also be replying to this message with a copy of the patch between
2.6.26.6 and 2.6.26.7

The updated 2.6.26.y git tree can be found at:
        git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-2.6.26.y.git
and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser:

Linux 2.6.27.5

QuoteWe (the -stable team) are announcing the release of the 2.6.27.5
kernel.

It contains a wide range of bugfixes, and all users of the 2.6.27 kernel
series are strongly encouraged to upgrade.  Very strongly.  Did I
mention that you all should upgrade?  Seriously, what are you waiting
for?  Running those old kernel trees prior to .27?  Are you crazy?  You
really want to run this one.  It's all shiny new and has that lovely
new-kernel smell that we all know and love.

It is the last release of the 2.6.25.y tree that I have planned to do.
the .25 tree has lasted a very long time (in the overall -stable
timeframe), and it's lifetime is pretty much over.  All users using the
2.6.25.y tree are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this version, and
then consider how they are going to upgrade to the latest 2.6.27 version
soon.

I'll also be replying to this message with a copy of the patch between
2.6.25.19 and 2.6.25.20
