Nos micros da série SA800, da MiniPC, os usuários montam a  máquina empilhando componentes. A idéia é bacana pela originalidade e porque permite ter em casa um PC supercompacto, mas que pode facilmente receber novos recursos.

A construção dos computadores SA800 é feita de forma modular. A MiniPC vende o que pode ser chamado de unidade básica do micro. Trata-se de um PC supercompacto (19,8 por 19,8 por 8,2 centímetros) com placa-mãe, processador, memória e disco rígido. As opções de chip vão do Celeron M430 até o Core 2 Duo T7200. A quantidade de memória (1 GB) e o HD de 2,5 polegadas com 40 GB de capacidade são sempre os mesmos. Todos os recursos disponíveis na unidade básica do SA800 são nativos da placa-mãe, como vídeo onboard com saídas DVI e S-Video, som 7.1, rede gigabit e portas USB 2.0 e FireWire.

A partir daí, quem quiser novos componentes deve comprar módulos extensores com HD SATA, gravador de DVD, placa gigabit e Wi-Fi. A instalação desses novos recursos é feita retirando a tampa da unidade básica do SA800 e empilhando aí a nova ââ,¬Å"fatiaââ,¬Â representada pelo compartimento de três centímetros de altura que abriga o HD, o drive óptico ou a interface de rede.

Eu ainda estou á espera que acabem com a porcaria das motherboards e façam um sistema de gavetas...

se acabassem com as motherbards, acabavam com todos os sistemas electronicos do mundo
o que pode acontecer, e que elas encolham, e exitem baords pra todos os tamanhos e feitios, e nao penses que elas so existem nos computadores, o teu telemovel tem uma board e no entanto nao e gigante, uma tv tem motherboard, e nao das por ela, ate uma xbox tem e nao te queixas
motherboard e a placa mae, onde todos os circuitos electronicos e componentes que se interligam entre si e que formam um sistema funcional

O problema é a forma de como o PC foi evoluindo, é do tipo, temos a motherboard, bora adicionar mais coisas, e vao metendo mais e mais coisas, placas graficas, placas de som etc. aquilo é um caos completo. Deviam fazer as coisas com mais ordem.

os desktops vao acabar ou por encolher, ou os portateis vao tomar o seu lugar

mas nao e preciso ir muito longe, um aopen, e tens um pc que nao e um matacao gigante a estorvar na secretaria

pois, mas nao e facil em computadores ja por si so pequenos "demais", esse sistema e optimo para computadores de grande porte, que ja sao grandes, e que ainda se podem expandir, ocupando uma sala inteira se for preciso

agora, se te referes aos sistemas de rack, ui... x\\') adoro-os, 2 metros de "poder" em gavetas de 1U

Meu Deus esta gente é louca. Com que então ta mau termos uma placa gráfica separada da placa mãe, pensa la nas inumeras de vantagens que isto te traz, upgrade, desempenho, ...
e um Desktop nunca sera substituido.
