Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.

    Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

    The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.

    It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home weââ,¬â,,¢ve ever known.

There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!

Nem conhecia a foto. A terra ali é apenas mais um pixels, quem diria que todos nos vivemos nesse pixels?

Se conseguissemos chegar a uma distancia infinita da terra e conseguissemos ver o que se passava na terra, era possível ver o que se passou à bastantes anos, séculos.

No entanto isso é ainda impossivel.

Excelente...adorei este post.

   Sobre a Terra e o Universo não sei em que pensar.Qual a dimensão do Universo?Porque é que só existe vida no nosso planeta, se há milhões de galáxias e planetas?
   Não sei.Mas se virmos, o que podemos nós ser? Um simples projecto escolar de um geek numa outra dimensão? Sim?Não?  Provem.

Como ele disse, tantas guerras, tanta destruição ao longo da nossa existencia, apenas para eles serem líderes de um grao de poeira no universo. O que é absolutamente nada.
Se cada 1 leva-se isto a sério n haveria nada disso.
